Ordfront Förlag

Ordfront Förlag is the Stockholm publisher credited with the 1998 first publication of Henning Mankell’s novel Brandvägg, establishing its place at the beginning of the book’s publication history.

Publication Role

The book’s publication information identifies Ordfront Förlag in Stockholm as the publisher of the original edition, issued in 1998 under the title Brandvägg. The credit distinguishes the Swedish first edition from the later English-language editions.

Publication History

The English translation was first published by The New Press in New York in 2002, followed by a British edition from The Harvill Press in 2003. Ordfront Förlag’s role is therefore specifically that of the original publisher, preceding the novel’s subsequent English-language publication.
