Admiral Croft, a wealthy naval officer, applies to rent Kellynch Hall. Despite Sir Walter's prejudice against the navy, he is persuaded by Mr. Shepherd and the Admiral's respectable appearance. The Crofts become the new tenants, and the family prepares to move to Bath.
