Ender agrees to go with Valentine to the colony

Valentine visits Ender on Eros and tells him that he can never return to Earth, as Peter, now the Hegemon, would use him. She proposes that they go together to the first colony, a new world that was once a Bugger colony. Ender is reluctant, but he agrees, seeing it as a way to escape Earth and to try to understand the Buggers. He is appointed governor of the colony, and they depart on the starship. The voyage takes two years, and Ender begins to find some peace.
