Ender orders attack on the bugger planet

In what Ender believes is a final examination, he is faced with an overwhelming enemy fleet and a planet. Realizing he cannot win a conventional battle, Ender decides to break the rules and attack the planet itself, using the Little Doctor. He orders his ships to focus their weapons on the planet, causing it to explode and destroying the entire enemy fleet. The battle is a complete victory, but Ender later learns that it was not a simulation—it was the real Third Invasion, and he has just destroyed the Bugger homeworld and all the queens. Ender is horrified by what he has done.
