Ender's first time in the battleroom

Ender and his launch group are introduced to the battleroom, a zero-gravity arena where they will practice combat. Ender quickly learns to orient himself in null gravity, realizing that the enemy's gate is down. He and Alai begin to experiment with movement and shooting, discovering how to use their flash suits and guns. They organize a game where they freeze all the other boys, demonstrating their understanding of the environment. This experience marks the beginning of Ender's mastery of the battleroom, which will become his domain.
