Aunt Lydia Begins Writing the Holograph
Aunt Lydia starts writing her secret manuscript, the Ardua Hall Holograph, in her private sanctum within the Hildegard Library. She hides it inside a hollowed-out copy of Cardinal Newman's Apologia Pro Vita Sua. She reflects on her past, her power, and the risks of writing, knowing that discovery could mean death. This act sets the stage for her eventual betrayal of Gilead.
