The Fire Patrol's Rise

A New Authority Altinol's Takeover Altinol 111, a former executive, seizes the university Sanctuary and forms the Fire Patrol. He imposes a strict ban on fire, except for his own group. The Mission The Patrol confiscates fire-making equipment and punishes violators. They aim to prevent further fires but also to establish political control. Siferra's Involvement Siferra joins the Patrol for a time, but she becomes disillusioned with Altinol's authoritarian methods.

The Provincial Fragmentation

A Patchwork of States The New Borders Along the Great Southern Highway, small provinces spring up: Restoration Province, Six Suns Province, Godland, Daylight, etc. Each has its own rules and Search stations. The Search Policy Every traveler is searched for fire-making equipment. The fear of fire is universal. Beenay and Raissta become stranded in Restoration Province due to her injury. The Lack of Unity These provinces are weak and isolated. They cannot coordinate against larger threats like the Apostles.

The Apostle Army's March

The Consolidation of Power The Army Folimun 66 leads an army of Apostles southward, intending to crush the provincial governments and take control of Amgando. The Threat Theremon and Siferra learn of the army's approach and try to warn Amgando. They are captured but eventually join Folimun. The Outcome The Apostles succeed in establishing dominance. The conflict between order and chaos is resolved in favor of a theocratic dictatorship.
