First Meeting with Jud Crandall

After a chaotic afternoon of mishaps—Ellie cuts her knee, Gage is stung by a bee, and Louis cannot find the house keys—their elderly neighbor, Jud Crandall, crosses the road to help. He deftly removes the bee stinger and offers his assistance. Jud introduces himself and his wife, Norma, and invites Louis over for a beer later. Louis, initially wary of the old man, feels an immediate liking for him. This meeting marks the beginning of a deep and fateful friendship between Louis and Jud, which will have profound consequences for the Creed family.
