Arrest and Police Brutality

Alex is arrested by the police and taken to the station. He is beaten and interrogated. P.R. Deltoid visits and spits in Alex's face, expressing his disgust. Alex, in a fit of defiance, confesses to all his crimes, including those of his droogs. He is then thrown into a cell with other prisoners, where he is attacked by a queer inmate. The police brutality and Deltoid's betrayal deepen Alex's sense of isolation and his contempt for authority. This scene marks the low point of Alex's fortunes, as he faces the full weight of the state's punishment.
