Beating by Billyboy and Dim (Police)

The police who arrive are Billyboy and Dim, now working as officers. They take Alex to a remote country road and beat him severely. Dim, Alex's former droog, takes particular pleasure in the assault. They leave Alex bleeding and alone in the rain. This event is a brutal irony: Alex's former enemy and former friend have become agents of the state, and they use their power to exact personal revenge. Alex is now a victim of the very violence he once perpetrated. The beating is a turning point, as Alex begins to understand the cyclical nature of violence.
