Continued Conditioning and Despair
Alex undergoes daily conditioning sessions, each more intense than the last. He is injected with a drug that induces sickness, which is then paired with the violent films. He tries to resist by banging his head against the wall, but the conditioning is relentless. He realizes that the injections are the cause of his sickness, not the films themselves. He also discovers that the conditioning has made him sick at the thought of violence, and that his love of music has been corrupted, as any music associated with the films now makes him ill. Alex's spirit is broken, and he becomes a passive, obedient subject. The conditioning is a complete success, but at the cost of his free will.
