Suicide Attempt

Left alone in the flat, Alex hears loud classical music from the next room, which triggers his conditioning and causes him intense pain. He realizes that the music is being played deliberately to torment him. In despair, he jumps from the window, attempting to kill himself. He survives the fall but is severely injured. The suicide attempt is the culmination of Alex's suffering: his conditioning has made life unbearable, and he sees no way out. The act is also a rebellion against those who have used him, as his death would have been a powerful political statement.
