Final Scene with New Droogs and Pete

Alex is back in the Korova Milkbar with three new droogs: Len, Rick, and Bully. He is now eighteen and works at the National Gramodisc Archives. He feels bored and listless, no longer interested in the casual violence of his new gang. He leaves them and wanders the streets, reflecting on his life. He encounters Pete, his former droog, who is now married and living a conventional life. Pete invites Alex to a party, but Alex declines. Alex has a vision of himself as an old man, and he realizes that he is growing up. He decides to find a wife and start a family, but he is also aware that the cycle of violence will continue with his own son. The novel ends with Alex's ambiguous acceptance of adulthood and his resignation to the 'growing up' process.
