Poison Tooth
Yueh plants a poison capsule tooth in Leto's mouth, hoping the Duke can kill the Baron. Leto dies in a gas attack that kills Piter de Vries but fails to kill the Baron.
Scattered Remnants
Gurney Halleck flees with a few men, Thufir Hawat is captured, and Paul and Jessica vanish into the desert. House Atreides appears obliterated.

Paul and Jessica use the Fremen and the Missionaria Protectiva's legends to gain sanctuary. Paul trains the tribesmen in desert warfare.
Raids and Revenge
The Fedaykin raid Harkonnen outposts and free captured Atreides soldiers. The House of Atreides continues as a guerrilla nation rather than a planetary fief.
Growing Legend
Paul's name as Muad'Dib spreads, and the Fremen begin to see him as the Lisan al-Gaib. Atreides power rises from the graves of Arrakeen.

Overthrow
Paul's army destroys the Harkonnen and Sardaukar forces in Arrakeen. The Baron is killed by Alia Atreides, and the Emperor is made prisoner.
Dynasty
Paul marries Princess Irulan, creating a bridge from Atreides blood to the Corrino throne. House Atreides attains a rank beyond any duke.
Cost
The victory carries the shadow of the jihad and the personal grief of Paul's son. House Atreides survives, but transformed into something terrifying.
