The Preparation

Making the Silver Slugs The Idea Bill Denbrough believed that silver could harm It, based on werewolf lore. Ben Hanscom contributed one of his silver dollars, and they melted it down in Bill's father's workshop. They made two silver slugs, small enough to be used as ammunition for Bill's slingshot. The Decision Beverly Marsh, who had the best aim, was chosen to shoot the slugs. She was reluctant but agreed. The Losers gathered at Bill's house, and Ben cast the slugs. The process was tense but successful. The Plan The plan was to go to the house on Neibolt Street, where It had manifested as a werewolf, and shoot It with the silver slugs. They hoped to kill It or at least drive It away. The group was scared but determined.

The Attack

The Battle in the Bathroom The Entry The Losers entered the house on Neibolt Street, crawling through the cellar window. They explored the rooms, encountering traps and illusions. Finally, they reached the bathroom, where the toilet had exploded, revealing a drainpipe. It emerged as a werewolf. The Shot Beverly fired the silver slug, hitting the werewolf in the snout. It screamed in pain and retreated into the drain. The Losers had wounded It, but they knew they had not killed It. The encounter proved that silver could hurt It. The Aftermath Ben Hanscom was badly clawed during the fight, but he survived. The Losers retreated to the clubhouse, exhausted but triumphant. They had faced the monster and lived. This victory gave them hope for the final confrontation.
