The Turtle's Role

The Cosmic Guardian
The Vision
During the Ritual of Chüd, Bill encountered the Turtle, a vast cosmic being that had created the universe. The Turtle was a force of good, but it was passive and could not directly intervene. It advised Bill to use his own strength and belief.
The Death
In the final battle, Bill sensed that the Turtle had died. This was a blow, but it also meant that the cosmic balance had shifted. The Losers had to rely on themselves.
The Other
Beyond the Turtle was the Other, an even greater power. This entity may have guided the Losers, but it remained mysterious. The cosmic framework explained that It was an alien parasite that fed on fear, and the Losers were the only ones who could stop it.
It's Origin

The Arrival
The Vision of the Smoke-Hole
In the smoke-hole vision, Richie and Mike saw a burning object fall from the sky millions of years ago. This was It's arrival on Earth. It crashed into what would become Derry, creating a crater that later became the town's foundation.
The Nature of It
It was an alien entity from the macroverse, a dimension beyond our own. It fed on fear and could shape-shift to exploit the fears of its victims. It had been dormant for long periods, awakening every twenty-seven years to feed.
The Weakness
It's weakness was that it could be hurt by belief. The Losers' collective belief in their ability to defeat it gave them power. The Ritual of Chüd was a psychic battle where belief was the weapon.
