Into the Underworld The First Descent In 1958, the Losers fled into the sewers to escape Henry Bowers. They became lost in the labyrinthine tunnels, encountering manifestations of their fears. The sewers were a dark, claustrophobic place where reality bent. The Second Descent In 1985, the adult Losers descended again, this time deliberately. The sewers had changed, but the sense of dread remained. They navigated by memory and instinct, following the trail of It's blood. The Symbolism The sewers represented the subconscious mind, where repressed fears and memories dwell. To defeat It, the Losers had to confront their deepest terrors. The labyrinth was a test of their courage and unity.

The Lair

The Heart of Darkness The Chamber At the end of the sewers was a vast underground chamber, It's lair. It was a cathedral-like space filled with webs and bones. The door to the lair was small, child-sized, symbolizing that only children could enter and defeat the monster. The Confrontation Both times, the Losers faced It in this chamber. The first time, they wounded It and escaped. The second time, they killed It. The lair was the place where the cycle of violence began and ended. The Aftermath After It's death, the lair collapsed, burying the evil forever. The sewers were sealed, and the labyrinth was no more. The subconscious fears were laid to rest.
