Sheerin hides in the basement

Overwhelmed by the terror of the Darkness and the Stars, Sheerin flees to a storeroom in the Observatory basement. He locks himself in, avoiding the sight of the Stars and the rampaging mob. He survives the night physically unharmed but is consumed by guilt and despair. He emerges the next morning to find the Observatory in ruins and the world transformed.
