The Temptation of the Ring The Desire for Power Boromir is proud and believes the Ring could be used to save Gondor. He argues for its use in the Council of Elrond. The Growing Obsession During the journey, Boromir becomes increasingly obsessed with the Ring. He watches Frodo and tries to influence him. The Attempt to Take the Ring At Parth Galen, Boromir finally succumbs and tries to take the Ring by force. Frodo escapes, and Boromir is overwhelmed with shame.

The Redemption in Death

The Redemption in Death The Last Stand Realizing his error, Boromir protects Merry and Pippin from Orcs, fighting to the death. He blows his horn but is overwhelmed. The Final Confession Aragorn finds him dying. Boromir confesses his attempt on the Ring and asks for forgiveness. Aragorn assures him he has redeemed himself. The Funeral Boat Boromir is laid in a boat with his weapons and sent over the Rauros Falls. His death is mourned, and he is remembered as a hero.
