The Desperate Defense Faramir leads a sortie but is wounded. The outer wall is breached, and the enemy pours into the city. The Breaking of the Gate The Witch-king breaks the gate with Grond, but Gandalf confronts him. The Rohirrim arrive just in time.

The Charge of the Rohirrim The Horns of Rohan Théoden leads the Rohirrim in a massive charge. They cut through the enemy lines, but Théoden is killed. The Fall of the Witch-king Éowyn and Merry slay the Witch-king, fulfilling the prophecy. The enemy is demoralized. The Arrival of Aragorn Aragorn arrives with the fleet, turning the battle decisively. The Haradrim and Easterlings are routed.

The Victory

The Victory The Rout of the Enemy The remaining orcs and men are hunted down. The field is cleared, and the city is saved. The Mourning for the Fallen The dead are honored, including Théoden. The leaders gather to plan the next move. The Hope Renewed The victory at the Pelennor gives hope to the Free Peoples. The stage is set for the final march on Mordor.
