Birthday Surprises

On Ron's birthday, Harry accidentally gives Ron a box of Chocolate Cauldrons that were spiked with a love potion by Romilda Vane. Ron becomes infatuated with Romilda and attacks Harry when he tries to explain. Harry uses the Levicorpus spell to subdue him and then takes him to Slughorn for an antidote. While there, Slughorn offers them a drink of oak-matured mead. Ron drinks his and is immediately poisoned. Harry saves Ron's life by forcing a bezoar down his throat. The incident is a near-fatal attack, and Harry suspects the poison was meant for Dumbledore or Slughorn himself. Ron is hospitalized but recovers.
