The Seer Overheard

Harry is summoned to Dumbledore's office. On the way, he finds Professor Trelawney, who has been thrown out of the Room of Requirement by a mysterious, celebrating voice. She mentions that she was trying to hide her sherry bottles. Harry realizes Malfoy must be inside, celebrating the completion of his task. Trelawney then reveals a crucial piece of information: it was Severus Snape who overheard the prophecy and passed it to Voldemort. Harry is furious and confronts Dumbledore, who confirms Snape's past mistake but insists he trusts Snape completely. Dumbledore then tells Harry they are going to retrieve a Horcrux, and Harry agrees to obey his orders.
