Hermione's Helping Hand

Harry holds Quidditch tryouts for the Gryffindor team. Cormac McLaggen performs well as Keeper, but Ron, with a bit of hidden help from Hermione (who Confunded McLaggen), saves five penalties and wins the position. Harry selects Ginny, Katie Bell, and Demelza Robins as Chasers, and Jimmy Peakes and Ritchie Coote as Beaters. Later, Harry, Ron, and Hermione visit Hagrid, who is upset because they dropped Care of Magical Creatures. He is also worried about his pet spider, Aragog, who is dying. They console him, and the visit ends on a better note. Harry also tells Mr. Weasley about his suspicions regarding Malfoy, but Mr. Weasley is skeptical.
