Gang gathers after the attack

The gang—Steve Randle, Keith "Two-Bit" Mathews, Dallas Winston, and Johnny Cade—gather around Ponyboy. They smoke and talk. Dallas Winston has just been released from jail. Johnny Cade is quiet and nervous, still traumatized by a previous beating from the Socs. Ponyboy feels the tension between himself and Darry.
