Isengard

Isengard is a fortress of immense age and power, an ancient place that Men called by that name, situated beneath the mountain's arm within the Wizard's Vale. Its history is one of transformation, from a stronghold of the Men of Westernesse to the seat of Saruman's corrupted power, and finally to a symbol of that power's ruin. The very landscape of the fortress—its ring-wall, its hollowed plain, its desolation—tells the story of its master's fall, making it a central location in the narrative of the War of the Ring.
