Decision to Find the Body

The boys decide to find Ray Brower's body and report it, hoping to become heroes and get their pictures in the paper. They plan to tell their parents they are camping in Vern's field, then hike along the railroad tracks to Harlow. Chris Chambers is the most enthusiastic, seeing it as a chance to escape his troubled home life and prove himself.
