The Passion
Teabing, a British Royal Historian, devoted his life to studying the Holy Grail. He wrote books and gave lectures, but he was frustrated that the Priory of Sion kept the secret hidden.
The Plan
He decided to force the Priory to reveal the Grail's location. He set up a listening post and recruited Rémy and Silas. He also contacted Bishop Aringarosa to fund the operation.

Teabing, as the Teacher, orders Silas to kill the Priory leaders. He also directs the search for the keystone. When Langdon and Sophie bring the keystone to him, he sees it as fate.
The Betrayal
He stages a fake kidnapping and steals the keystone. He then discards Rémy by poisoning him and frames Silas. He believes he is the only one worthy of finding the Grail.
