The Listening Post in the Barn

The Hidden Surveillance
Setting Up the Bugs
Teabing, through his servant Rémy Legaludec, installs listening devices in the homes and offices of key Priory members, including Jacques Saunière. The bugs are hidden in artistic gifts, such as the robotic knight on Saunière's desk.
Gathering Intelligence
Over the course of a year, Teabing collects information on the Priory's secrets, learning the identities of the four top members and the existence of the keystone. He plans to steal the keystone and use it to find the Holy Grail, believing the Priory has betrayed its mission by not revealing the truth.
The Attack on the Priory Leaders

The Decapitation
Silas's Mission
Teabing, using the alias "the Teacher," orders Silas to kill the four Priory leaders — the Grand Master and the three sénéchaux — to force them to reveal the keystone's location. Silas extracts the same lie from each: the keystone is at Saint-Sulpice.
The False Lead
Teabing initially believes the lie, but after Silas's failure at Saint-Sulpice, he learns that Saunière has passed the keystone to Langdon and Sophie. He then plots to retrieve it from them.
The Betrayal at Château Villette

A False Refuge
Welcome and Deception
Langdon and Sophie come to Château Villette seeking help. Teabing pretends to be a friendly ally, providing information about the Grail and helping with the codes. However, he is secretly the Teacher, and his servant Rémy is part of the plot.
The Confrontation
Later, Teabing reveals his true nature. He kidnaps Teabing (a staged kidnapping) and steals the keystone. He then arranges for Rémy to kill Silas and for the police to capture the monk. His plan is to open the cryptex himself and find the Grail.
The Final Confrontation at Westminster Abbey

The Chapter House Showdown
Luring Langdon and Sophie
Teabing, having taken the keystone, goes to Westminster Abbey to decipher the final clue. He leaves a message at Newton's tomb, luring Langdon and Sophie to the Chapter House. There, he holds them at gunpoint, demanding they help him open the cryptex.
The Failed Attempt
Langdon, pretending to discover the password, throws the cryptex into the air. Teabing catches it, but it breaks, revealing it was empty. The police arrive, and Teabing is arrested. His obsession with the Grail leads to his downfall.
