Calling the Banners

The Young Wolf Rises The News from King's Landing Robb receives word of his father's imprisonment and calls the northern banners. He must assert his authority over bannermen like the Greatjon, who tests him. The March South Robb marches south with a host of 18,000 men. He leaves Bran as lord in Winterfell and entrusts the castle to Maester Luwin and Ser Rodrik. The First Test At Moat Cailin, Robb must decide how to proceed. His mother Catelyn arrives with news of the riverlands and advises him to seek an alliance with Walder Frey.

The Crossing at the Twins

The Price of Passage Negotiating with Lord Frey Catelyn negotiates with Walder Frey, who demands marriage alliances: Robb must wed one of his daughters, and Arya must marry his son Elmar. Robb agrees to cross the Green Fork. The Split Robb divides his army, sending the foot under Roose Bolton to distract Tywin Lannister while he takes the cavalry to relieve Riverrun. The Whispering Wood Robb ambushes Jaime Lannister's army in the Whispering Wood, capturing the Kingslayer and winning a stunning victory. The northmen hail him as the Young Wolf.

Crowned King in the North

The Declaration The War Council After lifting the siege of Riverrun, Robb holds a council with his bannermen. They debate whether to support Renly or Stannis, but the Greatjon declares Robb the King in the North. The Acclamation One by one, the northern and river lords kneel and swear fealty to Robb as their king. Catelyn watches with mixed emotions, knowing this means war without end. The New King Robb accepts the crown, vowing to avenge his father and win independence for the North. He must now face Tywin Lannister and the other kings.
