Theo Runs Away to New York

After his father's funeral, Theo, fearing he will be placed in foster care, decides to run away. He steals money and drugs from Xandra's room and retrieves the suitcase containing the painting from the doormen. Boris, who has been living with them, refuses to come. Theo takes a Greyhound bus across the country, hiding his small dog, Popchik, in a bag. The journey is long, cold, and fraught with anxiety, but he is driven by a desperate need to return to the only place that felt like home: New York City and Hobie.
