Charlotte's love letter

After driving Lolita to Camp Q, Charlotte sends Humbert a passionate love letter, confessing her feelings and demanding he either leave immediately or marry her. Humbert, initially repulsed, realizes that marrying Charlotte would give him constant access to Lolita. He decides to accept the proposal, seeing it as a way to become Lolita's stepfather and eventually have his way with her. He destroys the letter and begins to plan his next move.
