Marriage to Charlotte

Humbert marries Charlotte Haze in a quiet ceremony. He finds her transformed by love, becoming a doting and possessive wife. He, in turn, finds her repulsive but tolerates her, using her as a substitute for Lolita during their intimate moments. He is consumed by his secret plan to be alone with Lolita.
