The Unexpected Party
Thirteen dwarves, led by Thorin Oakenshield, arrive uninvited at Bilbo's home for tea. They eat, sing, and reveal their quest to reclaim the Lonely Mountain's treasure from the dragon Smaug. Gandalf presents Thror's Map and a key, and Bilbo is reluctantly recruited as their burglar. The party establishes the company's goal and Bilbo's initial reluctance.
