The Emperor's Surrender
Paul negotiates with the Emperor, demanding his daughter Irulan's hand in marriage and the Emperor's abdication. The Emperor, with no other options, agrees. Paul becomes the new Emperor, and the Fremen are given control of Arrakis. The novel ends with Paul's ascension and the promise of a new era, though the shadow of the jihad looms.
