Alchemist turns lead into gold at the monastery

Freed, the alchemist and Santiago reach a Coptic monastery. The alchemist demonstrates his art by turning lead into gold using a sliver of the Philosopher's Stone. He divides the gold into four parts: one for the monk, one for Santiago to replace his lost money, one for himself, and one for Santiago in case of future need. He then bids Santiago farewell, telling him he is now alone and only three hours from the Pyramids.
