Santiago's vision of the invading army

While meditating in the desert, Santiago observes two hawks and has a vision of an armed army invading the oasis. He interprets this as an omen and, with the encouragement of the camel driver, reports it to the tribal chieftains. The chieftains, initially skeptical, decide to believe him and prepare a defense. This event demonstrates Santiago's growing ability to read the Language of the World.
