Cairns

Cairns is a village in the riverlands, one of the many disputed holdings between Houses Bracken and Blackwood. During the War of the Five Kings, the village was claimed by Lord Jonos Bracken as part of the lands he insisted had been stolen from his house by the Blackwoods. When Jaime Lannister negotiated the surrender of Raventree Hall, Lord Tytos Blackwood initially offered only Woodhedge, Crossbow Ridge, and Buckle to satisfy Bracken's demands. Jaime pressed for more, suggesting another village, and Blackwood reluctantly agreed to cede Cairns as well, though he noted that his forebears were buried beneath the rocks of Cairns. The village thus became part of the peace settlement that ended the siege of Raventree Hall, though the underlying enmity between the two houses remained unresolved.
