Pretty Meris

Pretty Meris is a Westerosi woman who has spent twenty years among the free companies, rising to become the torturer and a trusted captain of the Windblown. She is described as just under six feet tall, earless, with a slit nose, deep scars in both cheeks, and the coldest eyes Daenerys Targaryen has ever seen. Her appearance is so fearsome that even hardened sellswords treat her with wary respect; Dick Straw, another member of the company, claims to have fucked her a few times, but no one laughs when he says it. The Tattered Prince, the Windblown's commander, selects her to lead a patrol of twenty Westerosi riders on a mission to desert to Daenerys Targaryen, reasoning that the dragon queen may be more accepting of another woman. He instructs Meris to command the group and to know his mind in the matter of defection. When the Dornish prince Quentyn Martell and his companions later attempt to hire the Windblown to help steal a dragon, Meris is present at the secret meeting in a wine cellar beneath a hovel in Meereen, standing with a crossbow and watching with cold, dead eyes. She is also part of the group that accompanies Quentyn into the Great Pyramid to steal the dragons, and when the plan goes disastrously wrong and the dragons are loosed, she and the other Windblown flee, leaving Quentyn to burn. Later, when Ser Barristan Selmy interrogates the captured Dornish knights about the Tattered Prince's price for helping to rescue hostages, Gerris Drinkwater reveals that the Tattered Prince wants Pentos, and that Pretty Meris was the one who learned the Brazen Beasts' daily password by asking them "prettily."
