Wex
Wex is a mute ironborn boy who served as Theon Greyjoy's squire. He was present at Winterfell during Theon's brief rule and the subsequent sack by Ramsay Bolton. After the castle fell, Wex escaped by climbing the heart tree in the godswood and hiding among its branches while Bolton's men searched the grounds. From his vantage point, he witnessed the truth of what happened to Bran and Rickon Stark—that they were not killed by Theon but had fled the castle alive. He later conveyed this knowledge to Wyman Manderly by drawing pictures with chalk, including images of two boys and two wolves. This testimony became a crucial piece of evidence in the northern conspiracy against the Boltons, as it proved that the Stark heirs still lived and that the Boltons' claim to Winterfell was built on a lie. Wex's information ultimately led Davos Seaworth on a mission to find the surviving Stark heir, making him a key figure in the resistance against Bolton rule.
