The forest is one of several landmarks, including Crossbow Ridge, Rutting Meadow, and the villages of Buckle, Blackbuckle, Cairns, and Claypool, that Lord Jonos Bracken asserts were stolen from his house by the Blackwoods. During negotiations with Jaime Lannister following the siege of Raventree Hall, Lord Bracken presented a map detailing these lands, insisting they be restored to him as a reward for his service to the Iron Throne.
