Ben reappears to Willy

After Howard leaves, Willy, alone and desperate, sees Ben again. Ben tells Willy about a timberland proposition in Alaska and urges him to get out of the cities. Willy is torn, but Linda appears in the memory and argues that Willy is doing well enough where he is. Ben challenges Willy to say what he is building, and Willy cannot answer. The memory of Ben's success and his own failure intensifies Willy's sense of inadequacy and his longing for a different path.
