Biff's discovery of Willy's affair

As the argument in the restaurant continues, Willy's memory of the Boston hotel room overwhelms him. He relives the moment when young Biff, having come to Boston to ask for help with his math grade, discovered Willy with The Woman. Biff saw his father give her the stockings that were meant for Linda. The revelation shattered Biff's image of his father and destroyed his trust. Willy's desperate attempts to explain—'She's nothing to me, Biff. I was lonely'—only deepen the wound. Biff calls his father a liar and a fake, and leaves.
