Late night, present day
Final confrontation between Biff and Willy
Biff finds Willy in the garden and tells him he is leaving for good. Willy tries to stop him, and the argument escalates. Biff pulls out the rubber hose and confronts Willy with his suicide attempt. In a cathartic outburst, Biff tells Willy the truth: that he is a dime a dozen, that he stole himself out of every good job, and that Willy's false dreams have ruined him. But then Biff breaks down, sobbing, and says, 'I'm nothing, Pop. Can't you understand that?' Willy, astonished, realizes that Biff loves him.
