Baynes arrives in San Francisco

Rudolf Wegener, traveling under the cover name Mr. Baynes, arrives in San Francisco on a Lufthansa rocket. He is met by Nobusuke Tagomi, who presents him with a Mickey Mouse wristwatch as a gift. Baynes is amused but appreciative. During the flight, he had a tense encounter with a German artist named Alex Lotze, to whom he revealed that he is a Jew, a dangerous admission. Baynes is now in San Francisco for a secret meeting with a Japanese general.
