Young couple visits store

A young Japanese couple, Paul and Betty Kasoura, enter Childan's store. They are interested in American historical artifacts for their new apartment. Childan is impressed by their cultured demeanor and sees an opportunity for a large sale. He eagerly shows them various items, including a mural, a Victrola cabinet, and a signed photo of Jean Harlow. The couple leaves with the promise of a future appointment, and Childan feels a rare moment of hope and connection across the racial divide.
