Juliana sees rocket

Juliana Frink, a judo instructor in Canon City, Colorado, watches a Nazi rocket ship fly overhead. She reflects on her life and her past with Frank. She goes to a local hamburger stand, where she encounters two truck drivers, one of whom is a young Italian named Joe Cinnadella. The conversation turns to politics and the war, and Juliana feels a strange attraction to Joe's intensity.
