Conversation with Nicholas in the Crypt

William and Adso speak with Nicholas of Morimondo in the treasure crypt. Nicholas reveals the political intrigues surrounding the position of librarian and abbot. He tells them that Alinardo of Grottaferrata was passed over for the post of librarian years ago, and that Jorge has been the true power behind the library for decades. This information helps William piece together the motive for the crimes.
