Eddard Stark Becomes Hand of the King

Eddard Stark assumes the role of Hand of the King in King's Landing. He quickly becomes embroiled in the political machinations of the court, investigating Jon Arryn's death and uncovering the Lannisters' debts and corruption. He also discovers that Robert has many bastards, including Gendry. This event places Eddard at the center of the realm's power struggles and sets him on a collision course with the Lannisters.
