King Robert's Arrival at Winterfell

King Robert Baratheon arrives at Winterfell with a large retinue, including Queen Cersei, her children, and her brothers Jaime and Tyrion Lannister. Robert offers Eddard the position of Hand of the King, which Eddard reluctantly accepts after much persuasion from Catelyn. The visit also includes a tense moment in the crypts where Robert pays his respects to Lyanna Stark, his lost love. This event brings the Stark and Lannister families into close proximity and sets the stage for the central conflict.
