Arrival in the Capitol

The train arrives in the Capitol, a dazzling city of colorful buildings and bizarrely dressed people. Katniss is overwhelmed by the artificiality and excess. She and Peeta are taken to the Remake Center, where a prep team removes all her body hair and gives her a painful waxing. Her stylist, Cinna, arrives and is surprisingly normal and kind. He tells her he asked to work with District 12. Cinna designs a costume for the opening ceremonies that makes Katniss appear to be on fire, earning her the nickname 'the girl who was on fire.'
